Dale Earnhardt Jr Wins The Pole For The Daytona 500

Turning in a time of 48.364 at 186.089 MPH Dale Earhardt Jr. turned in the fastest qualifying lap earning himself the top  spot on the pole of the 53rd Daytona 500

If one things for certain Dale Jr is a force to be reckoned with on the super speedways. He ran well during the Bud Shootout on Saturday night until Carl Edwards bumped him from behind sending him into the fence and putting an early end to his night.

Jeff Gordon clinched his position starting from the outside pole for the Daytona 500. The great thing for these two guys is that they can sit back and relax because the rest of the field has to race for their starting position on Thursday during the Gatorade Duals.

Hopefully all stars are aligned for these two guys to get back on track and have a great 2011 season.
