Part 1 of the build can be seen Here, and part 2 can be seen Here.  Recently, Don brought the 4G63 buggy over to Dynotech Tuning in Seekonk MA to have a few things buttoned up on it. Mt Washington Hill Climb Next Week – Who’s Going?

httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BZh-7hkNe4

Each year, about 45,000 vehicles carefully drive up the Mount Washington auto road into the clouds. When their journey is complete, most of them triumphantly add on the bumper sticker that says “This car climbed Mt Washington”.  A proud moment indeed.

Next week, from June 22 to 26th, the auto road will become a race track for completely fearless individuals to race up the mountain at horrifying speeds.  Great news though!  People that are scared don’t have a race car… can still go and watch the racing!

Want to see who will be racing that day and what they will be driving?  Check out Climbtotheclouds.com .  You can also get tickets online there!   Now riddle me this:  Who is going to spectate?  Any of you?  Bueller?

KM132 Transmission Gear Comparison

Last week I wrote about how I broke the KM132 transmission in my truck.  Luckily for me, I am an auto parts hoarder, and had a couple spare KM132 transmissions “just in case”.  My life isn’t as easy as pulling the old transmission out and slapping a spare one in though because the one in my truck was fairly heavily customized.  Not only that, but the spare KM132’s I had were intended for a wide block…. You know what, let’s back up the train a bit. Continue reading KM132 Transmission Gear Comparison

It’s GTO Truck Tuesday! Come On In!

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Pontiac made a GTO truck in the 1960’s like Chevy did with their El Caminos ? Slide a 421 in it with tri-power, a Muncie, a posi, and you’ve got a winning combo. You could stick with your Pontiac roots, be competitive at the drag strip, and then fill it with mulch on the weekends! It might be the perfect match …..or not? Somewhere In Oregon There Is A Man….

….and that man found the remains of an old truck in the beautiful countryside.  Naturally he grabbed the helm of the prehistoric ship and took it for an imaginary sail around the luscious green field.

Don’t even think about saying that you have never done this before, because you know you have.  Just think about how many times you have been in the drivers seat of a car making high revving engine sounds while rowing the gears of the missing transmission. It’s what we do, no reason to deny it. The only question about this image that I have is: “Is that really a hand crank for the engine on the front?!!!” You’d have to be completely nuts the to spin that engine over by hand with intentions of keeping all your limbs. Yikes!

Start Your Monday With 12 Shots Of Engines.

Can you believe that it’s already June 13th? Half way through 2011, and I feel like I haven’t had time to work on any of my automotive projects yet. I really wish I could slow time down a bit, because I really have no idea where all of these days are going. Do days go by faster as you get older? I think they might. Shucks. Well, let’s focus on something positive this beautiful Monday morning, like 12 great looking engines. ——–> Continue reading Start Your Monday With 12 Shots Of Engines.

1966 Ford MustaBird Now For Sale

There is no shortage of oddities on Craigslist these days.  Sometimes you find the deal of the century and other times you find a ThunderStang, or is it a MustaBird?  Either way, the owner says:

What we have here is a 1966 Mustang.. sort of. The body and doors have been shortened by about 20″, and made to resemble an early T-Bird. The car was originally ‘modified’ 20+ years ago, then was ‘rebuilt’ after that. It now sits with NO ENGINE nor TRANS! The shortened drive shaft is still there. Needs total restoration. Was a 2-time World of Wheels winner in a previous life. I found it with thoughts of restoring it. I’ve decided to sell it instead. Hood is fiberglass. You will be buying a shell.

For 12 Benjamins, I can’t say that this is a bad deal. I mean where else are you going to find a BirdStang for less? I’ll tell you, you won’t. Somebody needs to snatch this thing up, drop a 429 in it and love life. Will that person be you?

Here is the Craigslist Listing

Special Thanks to Joe L. for spotting this little gem… and I do mean little.
