If you have already watched the First and Second episodes, you are likely addicted and in desperate need of episode 3. That’s where we come in, because we have it up here for your convenience. This episode takes place in Long Beach and shows Dai working his way through some troubles with his driving. Videos like these make me want to go do smokey burnouts in the nearest parking lot.
A week or two ago, we showed off the first episode of the new “Behind The Smoke” season. Today we have Episode 2. You’ll enjoy this one too.
There is a video series rolling out right now that you absolutely must watch. It’s the first one of this season and it just hit the internet today. At full volume, it will get you so amp’ed up, you’ll think you drank 16 gallons of Redbull. Between last season and this season, Daijiro Yoshihara’s Formula D race car got a brand new engine and some safety updates. In this video, it shows Dai testing the car on the track for the first time this year, and finding out it wasn’t exactly what he was expecting. It’s tough to understand what there is not to like about an S13 with a GM LSx engine swap, but I suppose if you are a professional racer, and not a guy with huge dreams and slow cars…ehem.., it’s probably clear as day. Enjoy the video, and be sure to come back on April 23rd for the next episode!
Last weekend Formula D was making noise in Atlanta Georgia. A friend of mine named Ethan drove several hours to attend this event and luckily for us, he took about 1 million pictures while he was there. From the looks of it, swapping new LSx V8’s into the small rear wheel drive imports seems to be a growing trend. If you have ever had the pleasure of burying your foot into the go-pedal of a newer Corvette, you can understand why. The sounds coming from these vehicles drifting around the track must have been music to the ears. I really need to get myself to one of these events….
