How to Fix the Blower Motor
The blower motor is located on the driver’s side next to the accelerator pedal. The accelerator pedal will need to be removed to reach the blower motor. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor, loosen the screws, and remove it.

The axles’ joints can bind, causing vibrations. Binded u-joints and defective carrier bearings on the driveshaft can also cause vibrations.
How to Fix Axle and Driveshaft Failure
- If the CV axle boots are torn or the axle is binding, it will need to be replaced.
- Inspect the u-joints and carrier bearing and see if they are excessively loose or binded.

4. EVAP Problems

- Check engine light for codes P0455, P0442, P0447
Causes of EVAP Problems
The evaporative emission control system (EVAP) helps the vehicle keep fuel vapor from entering the atmosphere. The gas cap is the first part to check with any EVAP codes. Sometimes the EVAP vent valve sticks open or won’t move, and it’s common to have to replace them on the 07-13 Nissan Rogue.

Inspect the Gas Cap
How to Check the Gas Cap
- Check for Looseness
Without turning the gas cap, grab and pull the end of it and confirm it is not loose
- Check the Gas Cap Gasket
Inspect the gas cap gasket for cracking, tearing, or missing pieces
- Inspect the Fuel Filler Neck
Check the fuel filler neck for cracking or corrosion
- Check the Gas Cap’s Tightness
Confirm the gas cap is sealing tightly and clicks when is tightened.
If the gas cap has any of the above issues, replace it
Inspect and Replace the EVAP Vent Valve
- If the gas cap is fine, inspect the EVAP vent valve located at the rear near the EVAP canister located under the shield.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and disconnect the hose to gain access
- Replace the EVAP vent valve and clear the code
5. Crankshaft Position Sensor
Symptoms of a Bad Crankshaft Position Sensor
Usually if the 1st gen Nissan Rogue has starting problems, it’s the crankshaft position sensor
- Vehicle not starting
- Vehicle will start and stall
- Check engine light for code P0725
How to Fix the Crankshaft Position Sensor
The crankshaft position sensor is located below the starter and is difficult to access. Before removing the crankshaft position sensor, check the wiring for damage, and check the electrical connector’s terminals for corrosion or discoloring. To remove the sensor after it is disconnected, remove the 10mm and remove the sensor.
6. Bent Backing Shield

- Scraping noise while driving
Causes of a Bent Backing Shield
The backing shield tends to bend into the rotor over time
How to Fix a Bent Backing Shield
Replace the backing shield or try to bend it back with a pick or screwdriver to create separation between the shield and the rotor. The wheel should be able to spin freely with no scraping sound.

My driver seat will move forward and back but not all the way back. I checked the tracks but I did not remove the seat to check. Should I do this? I’d there a way to manually move it to the back position?
