This past week at 1A Auto, we wanted to try something new and exciting that had never been done before. I hopped onto the 1AAuto Facebook page and asked our Facebook friends for some hard-hitting car questions. I then grabbed my coworker Dan and set up a camera so that we could answer these questions on video. Dan had no idea what he was getting into, and I gave him very little time to prepare, yet he handled it like an absolute pro. We were both a bit camera shy because this was our first Question & Answer Episode. How are you guys doing today. I have an 03 Nissan Maxima. And about 3 weeks ago now my transmission went out on me. The 1st & 2nd gears work fine but the 3rd & 4th gears are slipping past their allowable rpms. I’ve been wanting to do a transmission swap for the longest & here’s my chance. So my questions to you guys are: Q.1. What steps do I take to convert my 4speed automatic to a 6speed monster?? Q.2. What parts are needed for this conversion? Q.3. What tools are required for this conversion??…If you guys could write me back ASAP I would really be grateful. Because I am driving my Nissan currently & I need help in getting it back to tip top shape. Thanks & have a blessed one. 😉
Donte – Great question! I have done this to a car before for the same reasons, and it was one of the best upgrades that I have done.
