Celebrity Car Collectors & Their Famous Collections

When you’re one of many celebrity car collectors, bringing all the cars you wish you had as a kid to life is an actual possibility. Who wouldn’t take their Testarossa out to lunch and then switch over to the 442 for groceries just because they can?

These celebrities have made that dream a reality. Some of them you may know, others you may have forgotten about, but their collections are cool, big, and treasured by their owners.

Jay Leno

The most obvious of many celebrity car collectors on the list, Leno’s garage holds cars and bikes alike, and his collection is so big he stores it in a hanger known as his “Big Dog Garage.” He even has his own show, Jay Leno’s Garage, on CNBC where he gets to show them off, review others, and have guests show theirs.

His collection include a 1963 Jaguar E-Type Coupe, 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Coupe, 1994 McLaren F1, 1955 Buick Roadster, 1986 Lamborghini Countach, and a steam-driven 1906 Stanley Steamer.

Also, he got to drive Batman’s Tumbler.

Ralph Lauren

This fashion mogul also has a strong passion for vintage cars and their designs. And can you blame him? Lauren’s cars have the beautiful, classic and curvy look absent from most cars today, and he’s featured them beside the runway in a recent fashion show and has exhibited parts of his collection in museums throughout the years.

Lauren prefers European cars, as seen in his D.A.D. Garage. Some of the rarer models he has includes a 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, a 1950 Jaguar XK120, and a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Volante Drophead Coupe.

Tim Allen

Of all the celebrity car collectors on this list, comedian, actor, and star of sitcoms Home Improvement and Last Man Standing, Tim Allen prefers classic American cars. His collection includes a 1965 Shelby Cobra S/C, a 1950 Cadillac 60 series, and a 1962 Chevy 409 Bel Air.

Allen has always been a car guy. In an interview with Motor Trend, he recounted growing up in Detroit with a father who modified their daily drivers to sound and run like beasts and building a baja racer out of a Volkswagen.  Allen’s street racing days as a teen prepped him for racing with Saleen, and he acted in Mr.Goodwrench commercials during his earlier years. I think it’s safe to say that Allen’s appreciation for cars runs deep.

Bill Goldberg

Like Tim Allen, the former NFL defensive tackle and WCW and WWE wrestling champion Bill Goldberg has a taste for American cars, preferably muscle cars. Some of the cars in his collection are a “LAWMAN” 1970 Supercharged Boss 429 Mustang that was once owned by Elton “Al” Eckstrand, a successful drag racer who retired in the mid-60s and taught returning US servicemen how to drive new and powerful sports cars in an era of increasing auto fatalities, a Sheby GT350, 1946 Willys Jeep, and a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air IV. Bill started his collection to buy the dream cars he always wanted as a kid and has yet to slow down.

Sammy Hagar

Rock legend Sammy Hagar didn’t stop at collecting guitars. Hagar bought a custom $1.3M LaFerrari with a V12 hybrid engine, and he has a few more, like a 1984 Ferrari 400i, 1983 512 Boxer, 1972 GTB Daytona, and a 1997 456 GT. Being a Ferrari enthusiast is likely what allowed him to buy the hybrid sports car. He also has a 2005 Ford GT, 1970 Chevy El Camino 454, Tesla Model S, and more. Hagar loves luxury sports cars and to make room for his collection, they’re all stored in a big warehouse.

George Foreman

Heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist George Foreman has a collection that amounts to over 50 vehicles, with his most prized being a 1977 Volkswagen Beetle that will always remind him of his beginnings and rise to success.  He has a preference for Chevrolets, especially Corvettes, but has many more models from different decades, like a Lamborghini Diablo and R129 Mercedes SL.
