1. They’re Easy to Replace and Install Together

Depending on the engine and how many ignition coils you have, you may have to remove parts like an intake plenum. Once you’ve taken all of the steps to access and remove the ignition coils, you’ll save time replacing the spark plugs while they’re easily accessible.

2. Better Engine Performance

Replacing the spark plugs will improve your engine’s performance. Using old and worn spark plugs can cause a lack of acceleration and a drop in fuel mileage. Less spark won’t help ignite the fuel properly, which will waste gas. Wasted fuel going to exhaust can also damage the catalytic converters.

3. Bad Spark Plugs May Have Caused Ignition Coil Failure

The spark plug could be the reason the ignition coil failed. For example, an iridium spark plug has iridium through the center with porcelain around the sides. If the iridium breaks or there’s an internal fault in the plug, that will make the coil work harder, heat it up, and cause it to fail. A crack in the porcelain will also cause a misfire.
