Giving You Chills: Want To Peek Inside A Garage Full Of Corvettes?

I realize it is still early in the day, but this is most likely going to be the coolest thing that you see today, it certainly was for me.  I was browsing the latest blogging goodness over on justacarguy.blogspot.com and came across a super awesome website. It is a garage / museum / collection owned by Michael Brown that is almost entirely Corvettes. The really amazing thing though, is that Michael is a video producer, and his collection has multiple cameras that you can control from the comforts of your own computer chair.  I can’t imagine how it works, but it sure is cool to play with.  Be sure to cover your keyboard, because you may drool a bit.

Here is the link to 360 degrees of Corvette happiness:

It doesn’t end there though.  Michael also produced a film that premiers tomorrow! It is called “The Quest” and it is about the history of the Corvettes at Le Mans and Chip Miller’s quest to find the #3 car decades later.  The trailer for the movie can be watched on the website posted below.

It will give you chills, watch it:

Corvette: Oh.. This Old Thing? Oh It’s Nothing.. Really..

Sometimes I see vehicles that just make me smile.  This C4 Corvette is one of those cars because it is the same sort of thing that I drew on my notebooks in high school.  It feels so right to have a car that looks bone stock other than the disturbingly fantastic blower that is ever-so-gently poking through the hood.  This Vette looks just like lettuce tastes; so crisp, so clean, so… fresh!  It is as if the car is saying “oh this old thing, oh it’s nothing…really…”

…..Very well played little red Corvette, I like your style.

Hey 1974 Corvette – Why The 2 Piece Bumper?

Did you know that the 1974 Corvette’s had a 2 piece rear bumper?  It was the only year that they were like that, which makes them really easy to pick out at car shows.  In my opinion, it looks completely unfinished.  I have to imagine that the Corvette design team got together with all of their Burt Reynolds-esque mustaches, and just said “meh, let’s run with what we have, nobody will ever notice this unfinished bumper.”

If they could mate all of the body panels together to build the corvette body, why on earth couldn’t they do a 1 piece rear bumper? Was the 2 piece bumper really part of the design or was it a engineering limitation that they  sorted out by 1975?  Do any Corvette aficionados out there have the scoop?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Wait, Did This Corvette Just Become More Fun?

They say that less is more, and when it comes to Corvette’s, this saying has got to be true.  This seller on eBay is selling a bodyless, 6-speed, 1999 Corvette that still runs, drives, and stops.  My immediate reaction is that this may be the perfect car.  Add a roll cage, move a little weight toward the back, and BAM, you have a sicknasty rocket ship. Body panels are sooooo 2010. Man, I am full of bad ideas.  Who’s with me?

Anybody? …  echo… echo…

Monday: S10 Xtreme LS6 T-56 Burnout FYE.

Watching a gross display of horsepower is probably the only thing better than the actual act of building a vehicle with such mouth watering abilities.  Today I bring to you a 1999 Chevy S10 Xtreme with a 2003 Corvette Z06 LS6 hiding under the hood.  Hanging off the back of the all aluminum V8 is a T-56 6-speed manual transmission that sends power out to the 275/40/17’s.   This really is a great way to start a Monday. Maybe every monday will begin with a burnout video…. hmmmm.

RPOTD: Alien Spacecraft? Nah, Just a Vette Extreme Close Up.

Random Picture Of The Day

After yesterday’s Trans Am picture, I figured a bright red Corvette would be a nice follow-up.  From this view, it kind of looks like something that should be flying through the air over Area 51.  Luckily for us, it is not an extraterrestrial  space ship full of curious beings from another galaxy, its a beautiful muscle car.  Remember how nice summer was? ……mmmmm…..warmth.
