If you are going for the ’55 gasser look, you’ll want to first get some advice from this guy because he has clearly got it locked down. The headlights and the rear quarter work are really what seal the deal for me. A…mazing.
Agreed. JT’s acting is not quite as good as his harmonizing, but when combined with “the girl”, “the mechanic” and “the car”, you’ve got an award winning line up.
My first thought on seeing this was, “Shades of Two-Lane Blacktop!” That is definitely old school…
Just missing James Taylor!
And Warren Oates! I’ve got to find a copy of that movie, haven’t seen it years… Oh, Netflix!
Netflix is where I saw it most recently, so it’s definitely there waiting for you. Shoot, I even wrote about it a while ago! https://blog.1aauto.com/2010/07/15/two-lane-blacktop-car-movie/
Have to find it. Your post on it was before I discovered your blog. I know that there has been some discussion about it over at Jalop… Thanks!
This was the third James Taylor reference I’ve seen today. Naturally I have to watch this ASAP.

He’s seen fire and he’s seen rain…
…..and I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end……..
