One of the most old school tricks in the book is removing rust with molasses. Yep, rust removal with deliciously, sticky molasses. It is just as easy as you would want it to be. You mix it with water for around a 7:1 water-to-molasses ratio. Then you drop the rusty parts into the bucket-o-goo, and forget about it for a month or so. When you eventually return, you remove your previously rusty metal to find. . . Viola! Rust free metal! How great is that, right?

Ok, I have a rather simple question… Who named that stuff “Molasses” anyway?!?
That is not that name I would have chosen for anything that is used in cooking food!
At least you found another good use… it must be time for a beer….
When I was a kid, I used to hold my tongue with my fingers and say “Molasses is stuck to the table”. It was a lot funnier back then than it is now.
How’d he keep the bees out?
I’m not exactly sure, but I’d let the bees hang out in there as long as they want as long as the rust isn’t there when the parts come out! Rust is the worst!
Molasses REALLY! thats intresting I will have to give it a try might be expensive for a whole car tho.
I thought molasses was what you saw when you looked down a gopher hole. silly me
I believe you are correct Ron! lol
